i have been investigating the search as discussed above but on x64 bit machine.
i have installed the x64Ifilter as supplied by adobe. I have used the indexservice in debug mode and it seems to load the files into the index all ok except for .doc files. (I get a message for .doc that it could not be added to index.)
I am also using the versioningprovider.
The filemanager search in epi is not returning files. not even for txt files

Please advise how to query the Web catalog for verification purposes on dev.
What vpp provider to use etc..

Yes, that could be a good idea. And you could have options for currency and similar things. I put it on my to do list for research since I have never written a jQuery plugin before!

Henrik Tengelin gave me some valuable feedback so I have updated the script above.

It does not pollute the global namespace with its two conversion functions. Instead they are declared locally instead.

I do reuse the lookup of input elements to increase performance and also use this.value direct instead of the jQuery wrapper that does the same.

Also sprinkled some semicolons to make jslint happy and this also improves performance a little.

Mm… I know but I was really annoyed by their support departments attitude. To my defense, people who are not willing to pay for licenses will always find a way around any copy protection anyway.

You either need a unique license per web application or an Enterprise license that allows multiple sites and can be used in more that one web application.

Hi, I am getting the “License Violation” error on a test server that is hosting more than one EPiServer site. I am using Host Headers to distinguish between the sites. All sites need to be online at the same time. Is there a way round this? Is it possible to order a license for a web address (in stead of an IP-address)?

There is also a plugin at http://world.episerver.com/Support/Support-Tools/ that do the rebuild indexes for CMS4 and CMS5.

Hi Robert!

Just add a reference to the Assembly EPiServer.UI.dll in your project. The EditPanel class is in namespace EPiServer.UI.Edit so you have to add a using statement in the top of your Global.asax.cs file.

I want to add a sql script that is useful to use if you want to get hold of a pageid list of all pages in the EPiServer solution that uses the old form property:

SELECT [fkPageID] as PageID
FROM [tblProperty]
INNER JOIN [tblPageDefinition] AS pd ON [tblProperty].fkPageDefinitionID = pd.pkID
WHERE pd.Name = ‘MainForm’

This is useful if the old form property (in my case ‘Mainform’) is used on multiple pagetypes.

One of my projects has one web.config that works for all developers from Windows XP to Windows 7 62-bit and IIS5 to IIS7. It is possible since the production environment is Windows Server 2003 with IIS6 so we run in Classic mode in IIS7.

Great tip! I’m still using Windows XP at my current customer. Will try linkd.exe in Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9D467A69-57FF-4AE7-96EE-B18C4790CFFD&displaylang=en) as first thing tomorrow!

Hmm… ToWebString will allow some well known HTML-tags to stay unchanged. You specify what tags this in siteSettings in your web.config.

I prefer to use HtmlEncode myself. It feels a little bit safer…

You mention .ToWebString() and I prefer that over using HttpUtility.HtmlEncode. HttpUtility.HtmlEncode encodes to much I think, å, ä and ö for example.

Note: I’m only posting this part of the comment here as the FAQ on EPiServer World doesn’t allow comments. The configuration shown on http://world.episerver.com/FAQ/Items/Multicast-UDP-not-working/ is wrong. It should be as correctly shown on this post: . NOT as shown in EPiServer World (which shows an attempt to use Windows credentials). Security is not required when broadcasting to and listening to messages in this scenario.

Maybe you can prompt EPiServer to correct this mistake Fredrik?

Why not use the same method as in .NET 4.0? Since there is a new version of the CLR (the first new since .NET 2.0) they had the ability to move all settings to machine.config.

Wouldn´t it be possible to do the same in EPiServer? Why not just move some of the configuration settings to machine.config? There is a lot of shared properties between all the sites on a single server.
